Golden Odyssey - VR Tours - Visualising Mental Health

Golden Odyssey is a virtual reality touring company that provides retirement village residents with a range of immersive tours to destinations across the globe across a 6-month period.

Designed with intention of preventing elderly loneliness, specifically during the unsettling period of transition into retirement, Golden Odyssey specifically aims to create connections and build interpersonal relationships within retirement village residents both in VR tours and in group visits to their off-site “Immersive Gallery”.

Within the VR experiences, residents from retirement villages across the state will embark on 30-minute group tours accompanied by our virtual guides. These guides, as well as running the tours, will prompt group discussions based off reminiscence therapy to encourage players to chat in the in-game chat function. The monthly off-site “Immersive Gallery” also gives participants the opportunity to further build these friendships in a physical setting, whilst still engaging with 360-degree projections and interactive VR elements.
