Uni Journey

Uni Journey is a mobile application made specifically for first year university students living in Australia. The application helps to guide the new student through the emotional journey of life as a first year through releasing relevant notifications. There are two different types of notifications, academic notifications and weekly emotion reminders.

The academic notifications remind a student of upcoming dates in the university calendar. The weekly emotion notifications discuss the emotions a first year university student might feel in each specific week in the semester. The weekly reminders are released on a Sunday before the week begins so that the student can feel emotionally prepared for the week.

The interface of the application is designed to appeal to university students through the graphics and the functions. The design is simple and incorporates the UniSA colours, showing the relationship between the application and the university.

The name ‘Uni Journey’ represents the first year university experience as it refers to it as a journey. This application helps to guide them through the ‘rollercoaster’ of emotions and reassure them that they are not alone. It also encourages them to access their own emotions and to seek help if they need.
