Culture Connect

Culture Connect is a project dedicated to supporting international students in overcoming social isolation, adapting to their new environment, and fostering connections at the university. Through a campaign that raises awareness among peers and the wider community about the challenges faced by international students, Culture Connect aims to create a more inclusive campus environment.

Two innovative applications have been developed to facilitate genuine connections among students. The first application is a versatile box designed for classroom use during the initial month of university. It serves as a practical tool for teachers to create groups and encourages students to break the ice and get to know one another.

The second application is a connect wall strategically placed in university lounges or the library’s ground floor. This interactive wall serves as a platform for hosting and attending various activities, providing students with opportunities to engage with
their peers and form meaningful connections.

By combining the campaign’s awareness-raising efforts with these two applications, Culture Connect strives to foster a supportive and inclusive atmosphere for international students. The project aims to enhance their university experience by encouraging interaction, promoting cross-cultural understanding, and cultivating a sense of belonging.

Through Culture Connect, international students can find support, friendship, and a network of like-minded individuals, enabling them to thrive academically and socially in their new academic environment.
